I finished reading The Question of God by Armand Nicholi recently, which was the inaugeral book discussion at my new book discussion site BookMining.com. I would highly recommend this book. The author expertly lays out the beliefs and lives of Sigmund Freud and C.S. Lewis, comparing both how they understood and answered the question of God (as well as love, sex, pain, happiness, death, and the meaning of life) and the impact of their beliefs on how they lived their lives.
We are now deciding on the next book to read together, and I’d like to do 2 things.
1. I’d like to invite folks to read the next book with us. If you enjoy reading and reflecting in community, you’ll probably like BookMining. So give it a try.
2. If you’re inclined to participate, I’d like suggestions for the next book. I’ll gather suggestions, then present them to participants for a group decision. BookMining.com will have some genre variety (fiction/literature, history/biography, religious non-fiction, maybe others). We just finished something non-fiction related to religion, so I propose something in the literature genre as the next book to read together.
What do you think? Other book suggestions?
