The first John Grisham book I read was The Firm–I think when I was in college. After finishing it, I ripped through The Pelican Brief and A Time to Kill next, but took a long break after that. I don’t know why exactly. Then, a year or two ago, I read The Testament and remembered what fun, page-turners Grisham’s books are. A seminary classmate once described Grisham’s books to me as “the literary equivalent of crack.” When a new one came out, this guy did little other than eat and read until he was done. Sleep came only if absolutely necessary. Didn’t take him long to finish and he was back to normal. Also a couple of years ago, Abby and I read Skipping Christmas and enjoyed it too.
