megachurches, mega-myths?

Here’s an article I got in my weekly e-newsletter “Leading Ideas” from the Lewis Center for Church Leadership on a recent study of megachurches. The author of the article concludes that the sociological realities of megachurches do indeed bust some commonly held perceptions, but he does lament that theological questions were not pursued as diligently as would have been helpful by the study’s authors, Hartford Seminary Professor Scott Thumma and Leadership Network executive Dave Travis. Their study is reported in their book, Beyond Megachurch Myths (Jossey-Bass, 2007).
