If you are interested in signing a petition that advocates a more streamlined process for ordination to the United Methodist Church’s General Conference, which gathers in about a month and a half, you can do so here.
The hope is to make it less cumbersome, less redundant, and less convoluted than it is presently. This has younger clergy in mind in particular since we are already running quite low on younger leadership. I am not interested in making it a loosey-goosey and less quality process at all. But I think good quality can happen with a different approach than the one we’ve been trying out for the past 12 years or so.
