Plenty of folks have beaten me to the punch blogging about this article from the most recent The Atlantic – July/August Ideas Issue, “Is Google Making Us Stupid: What the Internet is Doing to Our Brains.” Really fascinating stuff about brain development (seems it’s ongoing throughout life instead of locked in at an early age) and about the role of our various mediums of communication throughout history in shaping how our brain works and processes information.
Embarrassingly, given the point of the article, it took me about 3 or 4 different times of picking it up and putting it down to finish it. In my defense, I have young children and they are not refereeing themselves!
