In no particular order, here’s some of my favorite books read in 2008:
- The River of Doubt: Theodore Roosevelt’s Darkest Journey, by Candice Millard
- Seized by Truth: Reading the Bible as Scripture, by Joel B. Green
- Night, by Elie Wiesel
- Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, by JK Rowling
- A Hidden Wholeness: The Journey Toward the Undivided Life, by Parker Palmer
- Just Courage: God’s Great Adventure for the Restless Christian, by Gary Haugen
- The Life of Antony, by Athanasius of Alexandria
- Who Will Be Saved?, by William H. Willimon
Guy –
I read Athanasius’ Life of Antony during my first semester back in graduate school. Wrote a paper on it, in fact. It is a tremendous story, and it made me think about spiritual warfare in a new way. I’m glad you enjoyed it as well.
May God bless your life, your family, and your ministry during the coming new year.
Peace,
Andrew
