I preached today in the two traditional worship services at my church. As a friend was greeting me after the service, he said, “I’m always amazed that you can stand up there with no notes and talk for such a long time.”
I told my wife about this comment (you can see where this is going…), to which she replied, “He doesn’t know you all that well does he?!?”

I think our wives must know each other…
One of my parishioners once bubbled over to my wife and son and said: he’s so funny! Is he that funny all the time?
To which my son said (looking at her without a smile) no.
I get no respect…and that God for it.
I, of course mean “thank” God for it.
